ANIA Mexico Use Case: A Replicable Model for AI Governance

Developed in partnership with Microsoft, this report presents a detailed analysis of Mexico's National Alliance for Artificial Intelligence (ANIA) as a replicable governance model for the Latin America and Caribbean region. The document examines ANIA's significant achievements since its creation in 2023, including the development of the 2024-2030 National AI Agenda, which proposes 8 public policy recommendations with 56 implementation actions, as well as regulatory, governance, and indicator recommendations. The AcademIA program, which has trained more than 3,000 participants, and the documentation of 14 AI projects in key sectors are highlighted. The report also analyzes the challenges encountered and lessons learned, emphasizing the importance of multisectoral collaboration and alignment with international standards to ensure ethical and responsible AI implementation that benefits society as a whole.
